What is insured?

Civil liability of the insured - the owner of the dog for damage that may be caused to third parties, in accordance with the Procedure and rules for compulsory insurance of the liability of dog owners for damage that may be caused to third parties, approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 9, 2002. No. 944.

Who can be the Insured?

Able-bodied citizens and legal entities (except units of the Armed Forces and other military formations, internal affairs bodies, prosecutor's offices, courts and other state bodies that keep dogs for the performance of official duties) who are legally the owners of dogs.

Is the subject of the insurance contract?

Property interests that do not contradict the law are related to compensation by the insured for damage caused to the life, health and/or property of third parties as a result of aggressive and/or unpredictable actions of the dog.

Insurance risks:

Death, disability or loss of working capacity of an individual, temporary health disorder of a child, as well as damage (destruction) of a third party's property.

Insurance cases:

An event resulting in the insured's civil liability for compensation for damage caused to a third person and/or his property as a result of the dog's aggressive and/or unpredictable action.

Insurance amount

• in case of compensation to the heirs of a person who died as a result of an insured event - 11,000UAH;

• in the case of appointment of the injured physical person of the I, II or III group of disabilities - 8,250, 5,500, 2,750UAH, respectively;

• for each day of incapacity for work of an injured physical person, health disorder in a child - 20UAH, but not more than 2,500UAH;

• in case of damage (destruction) of the property of a third party - in the amount of its book value, but not more than 30,000 UAH.

The cost of insurance

The insurance tariff is established in the amount of one tax-free minimum income of citizens for a period of one year, regardless of the breed of dog, for individuals and two tax-free minimum incomes of citizens for a period of one year for legal entities. (As of November 15, 2021: UAH 17 for individuals, UAH 34 for legal entities).

Term of the contract

From one to three years.
